GARDAI have renewed their appeal for witnesses after a young boy was struck by a car in Co Kilkenny last week.
The collision happened on Station Road in Thomastown at around 7.50pm on Sunday, August 15.

The child, who has since been revealed to be just four years old was taken by ambulance to St Luke’s General hospital but has now been moved to Temple Street hospital in Dublin.
The boy was walking on the road when the collision happened, and gardai say he is still in a serious condition in the hospital one week after the accident.
A Garda spokesperson said: “Gardai in Thomastown are renewing their appeal for witnesses, in relation to a serious injury road traffic collision that occurred on Station Road, Thomastown, Co. Kilkenny on Sunday 15th August, 2021 at approximately 7:50pm.
“A young pedestrian boy (4) was struck by a car. The boy was removed from the scene by ambulance and taken to St. Luke’s Hospital, Kilkenny.
‘SERIOUS CONDITION’
“He was later transferred to Temple Street Hospital where he remains in a serious condition. The driver of the car was uninjured.”
They added: “Gardai are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to come forward.

“Any road users who were travelling on Station Road, Thomastown on the evening of Sunday and who may have camera footage is asked to make it available to Gardaí.”
Cops are appealing for anybody with information regarding the incident to come forward by contacting the Thomastown Garda Station on 056 7754 150.
