RTE have announced that applications are now open for 2022’s Late Late Toy Show.
Host Ryan Tubridy teased a “large” spectacle as he looked forward to welcoming “the best of the best” to the Toy Show stage.


To apply for the Late Late Toy Show, parents or guardians must fill out an application form on rte.ie.
Parents will be asked for their name, a contact number, an email address and to choose whether their child is auditioning to perform or demonstrate a toy.
After filling out the application form, a video must be uploaded of the performance.
The Toy Show will air on the last Friday of November 2022.

Speaking on his morning radio slot, RTE presenter Ryan Tubridy said: “The Toy Show application form is now open. We’re going early this year, it’s only the middle of August but we feel there’s no harm in that because we want the best of the best of Irish kids across the country to apply.
“If your child does want to be on the Late Late Toy Show, the application is there for you and we’d love you to apply.
“Anyone who wants to, just head to rte.ie/latelate and before you know it you could be on the last Friday in November hanging out.
“We are going to go large this year, had a great chat about it last week and it’s going to be very, very special indeed.”

Young Toy Show star DJ Calum, who showed off his skills last year, gave his advice ahead of auditions.
He told Toy Show hopefuls: “Just be yourself, take your time, have fun, practice and make sure your video is okay.
“Just a half an hour, 15 minutes a day, that’s all it takes.”
STAR WANTED
Meanwhile, casting agents are looking for a young female lead to star in the upcoming, Toy Show The Musical.
The new stage show – based on The Late Late Toy Show – opens on December 10 at The Convention Centre Dublin.
Casting Director Maureen Hughes (Once, The Butcher Boy, Love/Hate, Raw, Charlie) is looking for the lead role which is a character called Nell.
Nell is a bright and brilliant 12-year-old girl with a wonderful spirit and great singing and dancing skills.
Auditionees should be between the ages of 11-16 with a playing age of 12 years old.
