ANDREW McGinley has said he is “devastated” to not be appearing on tonight’s RTE Late Late show – but he is set to launch his new charity online at 9pm.

The loving dad told his social media followers that his appearance has been “rescheduled”.

McGinley was scheduled to chat to RTE star Ryan Tubridy tonight about his children Darragh, Conor and Carla who tragically passed away at the hands of their mother Deirdre Morley last year.

She was later found not guilty of their murder by reason of insanity.

But the dad-of-three said that his interview will still take place at a later date.

Taking to Twitter, McGinley said: “Thank you so much for all your messages.

“Devastated not to be launching the As Darragh Did event live on @RTELateLateShow but it is out of both our hands.”

Meanwhile, McGinley will still launch his new charity As Darragh Did at 9pm tonight.

It is a fundraising charity set up by the loving dad to fund local teams, clubs, societies and groups.

OTHER APPEARANCES

Meanwhile, Tubridy is set to chat with Oscar-nominated actress, former Miss World and renowned sports star Ruth Negga tonight.

She will join the Late Late Show to discuss her incredible career both on-stage and on-screen, as well as her new film Passing and her plans to star in Macbeth with Daniel Craig on Broadway next year.

Former Manchester United legend Peter Schmeichel will be on the show to talk about his hugely successful spell at the club and his regrets about leaving.

And Rosanna Davison will also join the show to discuss her journey to motherhood from suffering 15 miscarriages and surrogacy to the surprise of carrying twin boys throughout the pandemic.

An RTE spokesperson said: “The Late Late Show won’t be featuring an interview with Andrew McGinley, as was planned.

“The show will be speaking to a number of households who protested in Dublin today re the ongoing mica issue.”
